It is great to pontificate, and I have recently argued that:
1. economic and foreign policy are linked;
2. therefore, that the recession will impact the American Empire that has been under vigorous construction in recent years.
So...here's a little test for myself: the cost of the Obama increase in the size of the U.S. military is estimated at $40 billion! If my two propositions above are correct, one might expect Washington would see fit to trim the fat a bit here. We shall see...
